Nintendo unveiled Super Mario Party at its recent E3 2018 showcase, and it answers one of our biggest questions about the future of Nintendo tech.
Super Mario Party will look mostly familiar to fans of the Mario Party series, with a plethora of addictive mini-games structured like a competitive board game. But where Super Mario Party seems to stand out is in how it utilizes the Switch hardware.
A few weeks back, we wrote about a Nintendo patent for technology that would allow several Switches to link up and form the Voltron of consoles. Super Mario Party is utilizing this technology for certain mini-games to link Switches and create larger game boards. Additionally, it looks like Super Mario Party will utilize some motion controls, and it seems like most of the mini-games can be played with just one Joy-Con.
Super Mario Party is launching for the Nintendo Switch on October 5th.
