Hey guys. I wanted to inform you of changes I will be implementing in my Short And Simple Reviews. I hate number ratings or so I think I do. When, I started reviewing games I didn’t think it was fair that games be placed a number on them. I felt like most gamers especially young one didn’t really understand them so I didn’t want to implement them. Instead, I was going to just say “Play It”, “Don’t Play It” , or “Rent It”. The thing is with that system and the way I approach games when reviewing them I’m telling people to “Play It” most of the time and I occasionally get an email from someone saying “Man, you didn’t say this game had this problem” and so on. I always tell the negatives of the games I review. I just feel games shouldn’t be played just cause there’s a few things wrong with them. If the good outweighs the bad you should play it and that was my approach.
Well, starting today going forward with reviews such as Serious Sam 3: BFE, Pool Nation, etc there will be an “Out Of 5″ rating system. The reason in doing so is to add more prestige to my reviews. The reviews will still be simple with the same categories with ratings placed on them.
Fun Factor – 4
Sound Quality – 4
Gameplay – 5
Graphics – 5
Online – 3
Replay Value – 5
I would then factor in the amount. In this case it would be 26. I would then divide by 6 in this case since it has online. I would divide by 5 if it didn’t have online. This review would be 4.3/5. I will still add on the Play It or other comments based on rating. Three should be considered the average in my ratings. I hope you guys enjoy the adjustments as continue to try to improve the quality and prestige of my reviews. Thanks for supporting.
As always you can always send me feedback or drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or below. Thanks for the support.
