Disney Infinity boldly goes where no play set or toy has gone before with Toy Story In Space Play Set. The starter play set comes equipped with Buzz Lightyear , Jessie, and a new adventure that will have you blasting off, unlocking toys, gadgets, Buzz Lightyear’s Jetpack and more to use in your Toy Box.  This play set became  available on various consoles for the price of $39.99 on Oct. 22, 2013.

Gameplay and functionality for the Toy Story in Space Play Set varies across consoles.

  • Buzz: Power up with Buzz Lightyear and prepare to defend the galaxy! With his hard-hitting shoulder charge and jetpack, there’s nothing and no one this Space Ranger can’t blast to infinity and beyond.3-2-1-blast off!
  • Jessie: Yee haw! Saddle up with Jessie and harness her shoulder charge for some fast-mobing action. When it comes to rounding up villians, this bold and brash gal doesn’t know the meaning of the word “whoa”!
  • Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii U Unlock the Toy Story in Space Play Set and play up to 2-player local co-op. Bring unlocked toys from the Play Set into your Toy Box through a variety of ways, including collecting capsules, earning spins, finding Disney Infinity Character Chests, or accessing the Disney Infinity Avatar Vault.
  • Nintendo Wii Unlock the Toy Story in Space Play Set and play in single player mode. Bring unlocked toys from the Play Set into your Toy Box through a variety of ways, including collecting capsules, earning spins, finding Disney Infinity Character Chests, or accessing the Disney Infinity Avatar Vault.
  • Nintendo 3DS Unlock the Goo Valley Gameboard and the Arena Battle (Goo Valley) mini game. Play up to 2-player local co-op.

The story is about Buzz Lightyears Star Command calls for your help to save an alien town from destruction! Gear up  with Jessie and Woody (sold separately) in this space adventure, but beware of uninvited visitors. Its up to you to unravel Zurgs master plan to destroy the planet!

The story isn’t very cinematic  to be honest but it is up to par with other playsets in that department. Maybe a little better but this isn’t really what Disney Infinity is about. Disney Infinity is about the players imagination and it’s creations. The story just gives you insight on what you can do with the Toy Story Play Set and what is available.

I can say that me and my kids enjoyed the play set to the max. They didn’t want to go a day without playing it once we had it. They spend hours alone in their toy box entitled “Fun Land”. I have to admit it’s fun everything they packed into it which now includes things from the Toy Story Universe.

The playset has added more hours of fun to the infinite adventure that is Disney Infinity.
