Genre: Third-Person Action / Slasher

Price: $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points)

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance has been a great platform for the Metal Gear series to go into different territories. It has used this game to start telling stories of other characters. Platinum Games and Konami are looking to do this in this game with DLC.  In this review, I will be critiquing the first story add-on of  the character Jetstream Sam.

The main thing gamers probably want to know is if Jetstream Sam fun to use and is he different than main game star Raiden. He is different but in my opinion not as well. Being this is the guy who cut off the arm of Raiden, (yes a spoiler but I expect at this point most has least played the beginning of Metal Gear Rising) I expected him to be more agile. Jetstream Sam plays stiff. Even his main specials are slow powered up strikes but they do land a deadly blow.

Storywise, the DLC is okay. It is isn’t outstanding because everything you encounter is a rehash of bosses and enemies from the game, from Blade Wolf to the final battle with Armstrong. Things are definitely tougher and the only thing you get are a few new cutscenes and extra gameplay of little over an hour depending on your playing skills.

5 New VR Missions! Yay!

What else does this DLC have to offer? The DLC comes packed with 5 New VR Missions and a new set of achievements to go after. For the price I would say it falls a little short to be honest. Short And Simple…

Sam barely cuts the cake for making this DLC worth buying.  Diehard fans of the series will want to play it just to be Sam and to get more insight into the lore of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Be on the lookout for information on Blade Wolf DLC coming which is scheduled for release this upcoming week on May 14, 2013.
