ADG Short And Simple Review – Mutants: Genetic Gladiators

Posted on August 15, 2013 AT 07:58pm

Mutants: Genetic Gladiators is a free-to-play, multi-player game launched on FaceBook at http://apps.facebook.com/mutants_gg/?kref=cm&campaignId=104112342 in early July 2013. It is a mid-core role-playing game in which users are provided several species (e.g., zombie, robot, barbarian, etc.) they can combine to create more powerful mutant fighters. The game in a way to me gives me a since of Pokemon and Digimon in a different light.

Mutants combatants have various powers and abilities depending on their combinations. Players pit their warriors head-to-head in famous fighting arenas located around the globe, all while collecting, breeding and producing their unique mutant species to create the ultimate gladiator. While I played, I created Skullymon and I’m sure he will become a legend among mutants and genetic gladiators alike.

The game has a lot of good points. The sound was amazing. The graphics was unbelievable. Load times for an online game of this graphical scale was great. The game is definitely one I look to playing more of.

As far as weaknesses, I didn’t really see any reasons not to play this game while spending your precious FaceBook time online.

Interesting Features:

  • Mutants: Genetic Gladiators provides exclusive, limited-edition mutants based on the astrological signs. For example, in July Kobojo offered a mutant based on the Cancer sign. It was called Cancernia, a uniquely powerful half-animal, half-undead creature. For August, the mutant is LeoHart, based on the Leo sign. The game also now has specially-bred mutants that will only be available for limited times. These updates occur every few weeks.

  • Mutants: Genetic Gladiators uses a F2P microtransaction model. Players can purchase a variety of items in-game, including campaign passes, gold bars, special, limited-edition species and mutants, magnetic keys and more. All of these items enhance gameplay and allow users to progress through the game more quickly.

  • Kobojo is currently working to bring Mutants to mobile and tablet devices. The plan is to release versions for Android and iOS this fall.
