Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is my first experience of the Sniper series. I have seen various information and heard much about the game from the developers over the past couple of months. The game is here and it’s time for me to experience it first hand and give my review.

The first game from what the net has been buzzing was a little lackluster. For me, hearing internet chit chat isn’t enough to scare me away. I’ve played tons of games that a lot of gamers think “sucks” but I got some entertainment out of it. I was hoping Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was going to be just like that.

The game’s story line is centered around Private Security Consultant Captain Cole Anderson, who players take control of employing stealth, hand to hand assassinations and sniping techniques to get the job done. The job takes plays in Sarajevo, a tropical jungle in Burma and the mountains of Tibet.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is the only multiplayer first person experience exclusively designed around the military sniper experience. The capabilities of the CryEngine 3, would make it seem like this game would be amazing gameplay wise and in appearance. In honesty I don’t think the game even comes close to even Crysis 2’s graphics but..graphics aren’t everything. Gameplay does matter and this multiplayer comes short due to no ranks, or skills, or features that most games offer today to keep you playing. It only offers leaderboards , achievements that require you to play online for hours, and statistics which is a big disappointment in my opinion.

The single player story has an interesting plot for most of it. There are sometimes when the cinematics and the dialogue seems a little redundant. The gameplay of the story can be tedious to fans of normal shooters but if you love long hours of sniping, which is what this game is for and stealth then you will enjoy it.

Overall, the game works for providing a Sniper experience. I don’t think this game will be good for most gamers  nor given a nomination for it’s narrative story in single player.
