Short And Simple Review – Disney Epic Mickey 2: Power Of Two
Posted on November 18, 2012 AT 09:40pm
Disney is known for it’s incredible universe and characters. So gamers would expect to see those same qualities in any Disney game. Epic Mickey 2 is here to deliver all the characters you remember on a new tale back to Wasteland. Wasteland is a world filled with 80 years of forgotten Disney characters and theme park attractions. Those that adventure down this path will find an unforgettable story but it will not be an easy path.
This game is the sequel to Disney Epic Mickey that was released for the Wii back in 2010. The game did pretty well despite some negative press and controversy the game received. This new game is looking to not only let more gamer’s in on the fun but to make right the wrongs of the past and make a bigger and better game.
Short And Simple Video Review: Disney Epic Mickey 2: Power Of Two
Marv Wolfman, award winning comic book writer joins Junction Point on this collaboration. The soundtrack is also done by Emmy award-winning composer, Jim Dooley and songwriter Mike Himelstein to deliver the first ever video game musical. I found the music and presentation to be exactly what you would expect from a Disney title. Every tune compliments every single moment for a very cinematic experience.
My issues with Epic Mickey 2 is the cooperative aspect with another player. The camera and the split-screen design makes it hard to see anything. They should have opted for a more of a horizontal view, in my opinion. Also game-play at times can be a nuisance sometimes just moving an object, or the environment itself doesn’t do what it should do. You sometimes see yourself covering your enemy with thinner and nothing happens. Although this is very irritating it will not stop you from playing just shorten your game play periods.
AntDaGamer’s Epic Mickey 2: Playlist On Youtube
Disney Epic Mickey 2 overall accomplishes what it needs to accomplish. It provides an incredible cinematic visual and listening piece that is similar to a blockbuster Disney film. A game-play experience that Warren Spector dreamed, providing a tale that allows gamer’s various ways to play. There’s tons of enemies, side-missions, and plenty of game-play. The game warrants its price tag and that’s what matters the most this time of the year. As the Mad Doctor song says “a second chance is what we all deserve” and this series surely deserves that.
