Sup Guys, Its Your Boy ADG with a very overdue Short And Simple Review for Sleeping Dogs. This game had a lot of content and this one man press gang just realized he never wrote a review up for it. This review will be heads on without any special review vids just some trailers and Twitch.tv footage so I can get to my upcoming review of the game’s DLC Nightmare In North Point.
The game was released back in August 14, 2012 by Square Enix and United Front Games. The game is available on Microsoft Windows® PC, PlayStation®3, STEAM®, and Xbox 360®. The game offers Action, Downloadable Content , Third-Person Shooter experiences, and very nice hand to hand combat in the open world of Hong Kong.
The story tells of criminal organization such as the Triads, the most powerful and dangerous organization in Hong Kong. You take the role of Wei Shen going undercover to take this group of criminals down from the inside. Along the way you have to prove yourself worthy taking part in criminal activities while trying not to blow your cover. Wei Shen gets in too deep in the later stages of Sleeping Dogs as you will be torn between loyalty and what is right and the lines of truth and honor become blurred.
- A mature and gritty undercover cop drama, set in a high tension underworld where every action is a risk that could blow your cover.
- Seamless explosive action fueled by a mix of deadly martial arts, intense gunfights and brutal takedowns.
- Epic high-speed thrills: Burn up the streets as you ram other cars and drive recklessly while shooting your way through the narrow streets of Hong Kong.
- Hong Kong is your playground: Enter illegal races, gamble on cock fights, or kick back with some karaoke. There are countless ways to explore the varied districts of the city
Sleeping Dogs gameplay is very addictive. It’s open world so you can explore or go on various bonus missions. The environments are interactive from taking cars like in Grand Theft Auto and hoping you want get caught by the police to grabbing food from an innocent pedestrian.
Sleeping Dogs combat at times can be a nuisance. The combos at times cause you to hold buttons in the middle of a sequence to pull off special maneuvers and its a real pain to complete. Blocking takes time to master as well as sometimes Wei will get deck even when you feel you pressed in the appropriate window. Despite a few woes with the combat, the action is fierce once you master it and gain upgrades to speed of Wei Shen’s skills.
Sleeping Dogs is a very beautiful package and a must play game of the year. If you haven’t checked it out yet I suggest that you do. From crazy races, over the top open world fun Sleeping Dogs is the perfect Hong Kong open world cinematic experience.
