WWE News: John Cena Sporting Pink With Susan G Komen For The Cure

Posted on September 17, 2012 AT 04:19am

John Cena has pretty much wore every color that could be controversial in his career. He has done it again sporting Pink. Unlike his Fruity Pebble Red that The Rock spoke of or his Barney Purple, this pink is for a cause. At Night Of Champions last night in Cena’s hometown, he wore this Special Edition gear and will be wearing it through October in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Fans will be able to purchase loads of merchandise like this including co-branded hats, shirts, wristbands, and headbands in the WWEShop.com store or at live event.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is world’s largest nonprofit founder of breast cancer research and community outreach programs. Susan will be using WWE’s assets, including its audience, live events, digital and social media and more to promote awareness. This promotion should encourage fans to get involved by signing up for “Race for the Cure” events in their local communities.

“Breast cancer is a devastating disease, and we’re committed to using WWE’s global resources to support Komen’s fight to end breast cancer forever”

It is a fact that approximately five million women watch WWE weekly programming. This percent is more than the top rated shows on women’s networks.

“This partnership will reach millions of women and families with breast cancer education and awareness messages, while raising funds for Komen research and health outreach programs in the communities we serve,” said Dorothy Jones, Vice President of Marketing for Susan G. Komen. “We’re ready to cheer on John Cena and the WWE Superstars and thank them for helping Komen fulfill our promise to end breast cancer.”

This partnership is for a good cause. I think the way the shirt was coordinated with black makes it ok. It could of been one big pink t-shirt but WWE designers saved Cena on that one. So, people hopefully will cut John Cena some slack as this is for a good cause. Will You?
