Kingdom Hearts fans are forcing Sora to take the worst possible selfies

Few fandoms are as excited as Kingdom Hearts fans, all of whom are looking forward to finally getting Kingdom Hearts III and a conclusion to the long-running series. Earlier this month, Square Enix revealed a new trailer for the game, and the fans, as fans tend to do, went crazy.

While there was plenty of cool information in the trailer—we saw returning members of Organization XIII, the world of San Fransokyo, and glimpses of that mysterious chess board that seems to be a clue about the plot—fans focused in one two-second clip. In it, Sora turns the camera around and takes a selfie.

Naturally, fans have spent the last week photoshopping Sora and the selfie template into every past game, making him take selfies at the worst possible moments over the course of the series. Beware of spoilers below, but really, you’ve had more than enough time to play these games while waiting for Kingdom Hearts III. You should know the story by now.

Not Clayton! *&&X%! Not Clayton! /u/flamerheart

They’ll pay for this! After I take this selfie. /u/flamerheart

Gosh, Roxas, I don’t know who else you could have ice cream with. @projectdestati

Master Xehanort, I don’t feel so good. /u/officialpasan

Other users took the format a little farther, using it to make jokes… or just to stick Sora in places where he really doesn’t belong.

These new Disney summons are really realistic. /u/DrTsunami

If you have your own ideas for terrible selfies, Reddit user Tristanio97 made a template, which can be found here. It’s as good a way as any to pass the time until January 29th, when Kingdom Hearts III comes out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
