GAME ‘Has Two Weeks to Turn its Fortunes Around’

THE BUZZ: U.K. retailer GAME “has two weeks to turn its fortune around,” according to a new report.

According to MCV, senior members of GAME management have been told that administration is a possibility.

The first steps of this is the current firesale that is happening in stores across the country and online. Officially titled a “Spring Clean” event, with the company offering games, hardware and accessories at heavily discounted prices.

EGM’s TAKE: Things just keep getting bleaker for GAME. This is a major sale at an odd time and can only be to drum up business for the failing company. Will GameStop swoop in and make an offer in an attempt to pretty much take over the European market? Really all GAME can hope for is a buyout, unless something drastic happens.
