Darkness…Imprisoning Me

MPI Home Video have announced that a boxed set of “Dark Shadows” — the gothic soap opera about a vampire named Barnabas Collins — will be released on May 8.

Besides collecting 1,225 episodes on 131 DVDs in a coffin-shaped box, “Dark Shadows: The Complete Original Series” will also include more than a hundred interviews with the cast and crew, bloopers, a making-of documentary, footage from a cast reunion, and a 96-page book with photos and episode summaries.

The collection will retail for $599.98.

MPI are also releasing two “Dark Shadows” compilations on April 10. “Dark Shadows: Fan Favorites” and “Dark Shadows: The Best Of Barnabas” each contain nine episodes, and will retail for $14.98.
