A Small Victory
Mike Patton — who’s best known to gamers for his work on “Portal” as well as “The Darkness,” and “Left 4 Dead” games, and to music fans as the singer for Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and Tomahawk — has announced that he’ll be composing the score to the upcoming movie “The Place Beyond The Pines.”
The movie is directed by Derek Cianfrance (“Blue Valentine”) and stars Eva Mendes, Bradley Cooper, and Ryan Gossling, as well as such game-friendly actors as Ray Liotta (“Grand Theft Auto: Vice City”) and Bruce Greenwood (“Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3”).
The film is Patton’s third score, following 2008’s “A Perfect Place” and 2009’s “Crank: High Voltage.”
Patton is also currently working on a new album with Tomahawk, due out later this year, and will reprise his role as The Darkness in “The Darkness II,” which is due out February 7.
