Shout! Factory have announced that the five-part “Transformers Prime: Darkness Rising” miniseries will be released on DVD as a movie.

The five episodes of the “Transformers Prime” CGI animated series will be edited together and presented in widescreen as a movie. The film features the voices of Peter Cullen (the once and future Optimus Prime), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Jeffrey Combs (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), and was executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, who wrote the Michael Bay movies “Transformers” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

Besides the film, the DVD will also include animatics and a look at the conceptual designs for the characters and settings.

The DVD will retail for $14.97.
