Autobots, Roll Out!

Shout! Factory have announced that the first season of “Transformers Prime” will be released on DVD and limited edition Blu-ray on March 6, 2012.

Currently airing on The HUB, the show features veteran “Transformers” voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, as well as such sci-fi staples as Gina Torres (“Firefly”), Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Batman”), Ernie Hudson (“Ghostbusters”), Adam Baldwin (“Firefly”), and Jeffrey Combs (“Star Trek: Deep Space 9”). The show is also executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who co-wrote the first two “Transformers” movies.

Though it was not announced what extras would be included in these four-disc collections, Shout! Factory did reveal that the Blu-ray would include a copy of the “Transformers Prime” graphic novel.

The DVD will retail for $29.93 while the Blu-ray will be $64.99.
