BBC Home Video have announced their April 2012 releases.

The Brits will kick off the month with the DVD and Blu-ray of “Torchwood: Miracle Day” on April 3. The four-disc set will include commentaries, character profiles, a motion comic, featurettes, and more. The DVD will retail for $49.98 while the Blu-ray will be $59.99.

Next on the list are two vintage “Doctor Who” collections featuring the third doc, John Pertwee. Both “Doctor Who: The Daemons” and “Doctor Who: The Carnival Of Monsters: Special Editions” have had their respective episodes digitally remastered, and come with commentaries and other extras. These two-disc sets will retail for $34.98 each.

April 17 sees the release of “Frozen Planet,” the nature documentary which will air this month on the Discovery Channel. Available on DVD and Blu-ray, both will include making-of featurettes for each of the ten episodes, production diaries, a look at the scientific work being done at the South Pole, and more. The DVD will retail for $39.98 while the Blu-ray will be $54.98.

Finally, they’ll end the month on April 24 with “Spot And His Grandparents Go To The Carnival,” the kiddie cartoon based on Eric Hill’s children’s’ books. The DVD will include two shorts and will retail for $9.97.
