Cuts Like a Knife

Warner Home Video have announced that all three blade movies — including the 1998 eponymous original, the 2002 sequel “Blade II,” and 2004’s “Blade: Trinity” — will be released individually on Blu-ray on July 10.

While the announcement didn’t mention what extras would be included with the first movie, it did say that “Trinity” would include the unrated version of the film, while “Blade II” would be getting a new commentary by director Guillermo Del Toro, a Director’s Notebook,” and a featurette on the movies’ writer David S. Goyer called “Blade II: Blood Brothers.”

It also said that “Blade II” would include all of the special features that were on the DVD edition, which is a good indication that the same would be true for the first and third films.

That said, there was also no indication whether the “Trinity” disc would also include the extras that appeared on the DVD that came with a special edition of the “Blade: Trinity” soundtrack CD, which included an anime short, making-of extras about the short, and an interview with RZA of The Wu-Tang Clan, who scored the movie.

All three discs will retail for $19.98 each.
