Who Has The Remote? Who, Who?
The BBC have announced that a universal remote shaped like Doctor Who’s Sonic Screwdriver will be released on August 31.
Designed to look like the Mark VII Sonic Screwdriver used by the current Doc, Matt Smith, the remote can control multiple devices—including TVs, stereos, and DVD players—with up to 39 programmable commands.
Even cooler, it actually lets you use gestures like the real Sonic Screwdriver, and even have a three number PIN security system to keep other people from using it to change the channel.
No price has been announced yet, but the BBC did say that the Screwdriver will, for the first 60 days at least, be available exclusive at ThinkGeek and BBC America Shop in the U.S., and Forbidden Planet and Firebox.com in the U.K.
