Alien Resurrection
Universal Home Video has announced that the Blu-ray of “E.T.” will be released in October.
Oh, and yes, it’s the original version, not the 2002 digitally altered one that swapped out the FBI guy’s guns for walkie talkies.
Besides the film — which has been digitally remastered — this DVD/BD combo pack will a new behind-the-scenes featurette called “The ‘E.T.’ Journals,” a new interview with director Steven Spielberg, deleted scenes from the 2002 version, the original trailers and TV spots, a photo gallery, and featurettes on the making of the film, a cast reunion, the creation of the character, and the musical score, as well as footage of composer John Williams playing that score at the 20th Anniversary premiere.
The collection will also include a digital copy as well as Universal’s usual Blu-ray interactive features.
Pricing and the actual release date in October will be announced later.
