At CinemaCon, Walt Disney Studios announced that singer/guitarist Jack White will be doing the music for “The Lone Ranger.”

Due out May 31, 2013, the film stars Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”) as the titular cowboy and Johnny Depp (“21 Jump Street”) as his BFF Tonto. It’s being directed by Gore Verbinski (the first three “Pirates Of The Caribbean” movies and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (all four “Pirates Of The Caribbean” movies).

In other White news, the former White Stripes frontman released his first solo album, “Blunderbuss,” yesterday.
