The Kid Stays In The Picture
Kotobukiya have announced that an Bishoujo statue of Jaina Solo — the daughter of Han Solo and Leia Organa — will be released this December.
Jaina was originally created by writer Timothy Zahn for his 1994 novel The Last Command. She is the oldest child of Han and Leia, though she’s only five minutes older than her twin brother, Jacen.
The statue represents the first character from the Star Wars extended universe to be a Kotobukiya statue, as well as the series’ first character to be part of Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo line, which are anime/manga-looking statues. Jaina’s is based on an illustration by Shunya Yamashita, who worked on such games Final Fantasy X, and also designed such Marvel and DC Comics characters as Black Widow, Emma Frost, and Black Cat for Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo line.
The statue is 1/7 scale, stands 9-inches tall, and will include a special base that incorporates the logo of Rogue Squadron, which the character joined at the ripe old age of eighteen.
The statues will retail for $64.99.
