Upon A Dark Horse

Dark Horse Comics have announced that they’ll release both the first issue of a new Star Wars comic series and an Omnibus collection of some older comics on February 6.

The new comic is the lasted chapter in the ongoing Dark Times series, which is set just after the events of Revenge Of The Sith. Subtitled Fire Carrier, the book centers on Jedi Master K’Kruhk, who’s on the run with some Padawans, and ends up hiding in a refugee camp on an Imperial-run planet. Written by Randy Stradley, who’s penned other Star Wars comics, with art by Gabriel Guzman (Kull).Star Wars: Dark Times: Fire Carrier #1 will retail for $2.99.

For those looking for a different spin on Star Wars, though, the Star Wars Omnibus: Infinities collects the three volumes of this alt history-style book, which showed what would’ve happened in the original trilogy if pivotal events had happened differently. For instance, in the New Hope section, Luke fails to destroy The Death Star. What follows is a very different take on the Star Wars saga. This 280-page paperback will retail for $24.99.
