Reading Is Fundamental
Out Of Print — the makers of fun shirt and other things emblazoned with the covers of classic novels and other books — have announced a series of new shirts, tote bags, and eBook reader jackets.
Staring with short-sleeve t-shirts, they have new designed based on the covers of the books Alice In Wonderland, The Great Gatsby, Little Women, For Whom The Bell Tolls, A Wrinkle In Time, Tropic Of Cancer, and The Brothers Karamazov. All of these shirts are 100% cotton, come in multiple sizes for men and women, and are $28.00 each.
The Little Women and one of the Alice In Wonderland designs are also available as long-sleeve shirts, along with The Raven, Brave New World, Hamlet, Jane Eyre, and 1984. All of these are made of soft blended fleece, also come in multiple sizes, and are $42.00 each.
The Jane Eyre, Little Woman, and both Alice In Wonderland designs are joined by The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz and The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Out Of Print’s new selection of tote bags. All are made from heavyweight cotton canvas, have flat bottoms, and are $18.00 each.
Finally, their new eBook jackets include designs based on The Great Gatsby, A Clockwork Orange, Moby Dick, Pride & Prejudice, and, of course, Alice In Wonderland. They’re made out of hardcover book board that wrapped with heavyweight clothing using the same techniques as a book is bound. They’re available for the second, third, and fourth generation iPads, the 7-inch Kindle Fire, and Nexus 7 tablets, and are $45.00 each.
But the coolest thing is that for every shirt, tote, or eBook cover that Out Of Print sells, the company donates a book to Books For Africa, a charity that sends books to kids in Africa.
