IDW has announced that the first issue of a new Star Trek: The Next Generation comic series called Hive will be released on September.
Even cooler, the series is being co-written by former Trek writer and producer Brannon Braga, who’s joined by Terry Matalas, who worked on both Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. The series will be illustrated by Joe Corroney, who has drawn such comics as Green Lantern and Star Wars: Empire.
The comic also brings back The Borg, and their Queen, as well as their most famous ex-pat, Seven Of Nine.
Though from what Braga says in the press release, this may be the last time we see these cyborgs: “”It’s a thrill and privilege to be writing in the Star Trek universe again. “This graphic medium will provide the narrative ambition and visual scope this story deserves, the final chapter in The Borg saga.”
Issue #1 of Star Trek: The Next Generation: Hive will retail for $3.99.
