Pirates Of The Clay Beings

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced that the DVD and Blu-ray of The Pirates! Band Of Misfits — the claymation-looking animated movie made by Chicken Run co-director Peter Lord — will be out on August 28.

The DVD edition will include a commentary, a short called “So You Want To Be A Pirate,” and “Mr. Bobos Flash Card Challenge.” The DVD/Blu-ray combo pack will include the “Pirate” short and the commentary as well as a making-of featurette, a second scene-specific making-of featurette, two shorts by Lord, a digital copy of the film, and the “Pirate Disguises Dress Up” game. Finally, the 3D DVD/Blu-ray combo pack will have all the extras on the other combo, but will add a 3D version of the film.

The DVD will retail for $30.99, the DVD/BD combo will be $40.99, and the 3D DVD/BD combo will be $45.99.
