ReelzChannel has announced that they’ll air the spy series “XIII” this June.
Based on a series of graphic novels by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance — which previously inspired a cel-shaded first-person shooter in 2003, as well as a terrible miniseries starring Val Kilmer, Stephen Dorff, and Jessalyn Gilsig — “XIII: The Series,” like the other adaptations, is about a spy with amnesia who’s only distinguishing mark is a XIII tattoo on his neck.
This new adaptation stars Stuart Townsend (“The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen”) as the titular secret agent, as well as Virginie Ledoyen (“The Beach”) and Aisha Tyler (“Halo: Reach,” “Gears Of War: Raam’s Shadow”), who also plays a secret agent on “Archer.”
A second season of “XIII” is currently in production, with Roger Avery — who wrote “Silent Hill” and is directing the “Return To Castle Wolfenstein” film — writing the first episode.
