THE BUZZ: If there is one thing gamers hate more than anything, it’s holding stuff. Thankfully Nintendo has heard your bedtime prayers. Nintendo has announced that everyone that buys a copy of Kid Icarus: Uprising for the Nintendo 3DS will receive a free stand that will prop up their handheld and alleviate certain complaints about the game being somewhat uncomfortable to hold. In a statement to Shacknews, Nintendo said:
“The stand holds the Nintendo 3DS at an angle above any flat surface and provides players with a comfortable option for playing,” the statement continues. “The game’s control scheme was designed to fit the game’s unique blend of flight, shooting and melee combat, and offers tremendous precision. Our product testing demonstrated that players found the stand to be comfortable and enjoyable.”
After numerous delays, Kid Icarus: Uprising is set for release March 23.
EGM’s TAKE: Leave it to Nintendo to never fret in the face of the overwhelming unhappiness. The 3DS stand seems like a solution to a problem no one had, but for those that would complain about holding their 3DS and stylus at the same time. They now have a new thing to complain about. We’re fully aware that, while we are quick to tease gamers with the arm strength of a sick kitten, behind closed doors we’ll try out this new stand and probably end up using it for all our Kid Icarus related gaming. Oh, we’ll still make fun of you on the internet though, we’re jerks like that.
