THE BUZZ: If you’re still undecided on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, maybe this ten minutes of gameplay footage will help you decide.

EGM’s TAKE: Based on the footage this isn’t the Resident Evil of times gone by, however the new set up is intriguing. The whole faction power struggle really adds an extra element: not only do you have to watch your back for zombies, but also enemy snipers. The cover based combat adds something extra that previous games lacked: the ability to take it slow and careful pick off targets. However, cover won’t help against the zombies who don’t just wait around for you to get your aim right. On the flip side, you are usually alone in Resident Evil games which adds to the atmosphere. Knowing there is a whole team with you may take away from the fear factor that the games promote so well. Not long to wait now before we can all discover just how different Operation Raccoon City is.
