THE BUZZ: Nintendo has released its long awaited 3DS firmware update, which adds 3D video recording among other features.

The update also adds the ability to purchase in-game DLC and adds some new StreetPass features, adding a new puzzle to the Puzzle Swap game and a new dungeon to StreetPass Quest. The final major addition is Nintendo Accomplishments, its answer to achievements/trophies, which are currently only available for the Mii Plaza.

EGM’s TAKE: The chance to record 3D videos will be a fun novelty for a while but expect players to get bored quickly and demand deeper features.
