THE BUZZ: FUNimation have announced that the anime “Dragon Age: Dawn Of The Seeker” — which, is obviously based on BioWare’s fantasy role-playing series — will be out on DVD and in a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack on May 29.
The 90-minute long CG animated movie is being directed by Fumihiko Sori, who previously directed “Vexile,” “To,” and “Tomorrow’s Joe,” and produced the 2004 version of “Appleseed.” The script being written by Jeffrey Scott, who’s written episodes of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Transformers,” and the cartoons based on “Mega Man” and “Dungeons & Dragons,”
No extras were revealed, but FUNimation did say that the DVD will be retail for $24.98 while the Blu-ray will be $34.98.
EGM’S TAKE: If his work on “Vexille” and “Appleseed” is any indication, “Seeker” should, at the very least, look cool. But we’re actually expecting more given that FUNimation has also made such cool animes as “Afro Samurai,” “Black Lagoon,” “Mushishi,” “Dragon Ball Z,” “Case Closed,” “Gunslinger Girl,” “Samurai 7,” and probably a bunch of other ones we’re forgetting at the moment.
