The Last of Us leads the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. awards with 13 nominations, the Academy of Interactive Arts &sciences announced today.

Following Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us is Grand Theft Auto V with seven nominations. Other notable games include Bioshock Infinite with six nominations and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Tearaway both with five.

This year’s show also marks the entry of a new award for Online Game of the Year.

“As the gaming industry continues to evolve, it’s important that we update our honors to reflect the finest achievements among modern developers and publishers,” said AIAS President Martin Rae in a statement. “With the continued growth of online games and the idea of games as a service, we created the Online Game of the Year category to recognize not only the best in online games from 2013, but also online games from previous years that continue to evolve over time.”

Online Game of the Year nominations went to Battlefield 4, World of Tanks, The Last of Us, Diablo III, and Borderlands 2. The full list of nominees and award categories are listed below.

With regards to the voting process, the D.I.C.E. Awards is the gaming industry’s premier peer-based awards show. Broken down into 24 categories, games are played and evaluated by members of the Academy’s Peer Panels to determine the final nominees. Each award has a panel dedicated to it and is comprised of the game industry’s most talented people in their respective fields. The Academy’s 22,000-plus members are then allowed to vote in each category via a secure process that does not see a winner announced until the evening of the awards show.

To see who comes out on top in all the categories, you can watch the awards’ livestream on Thursday, February 6, at 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time (10:30 p.m. Eastern) from The Joint in Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
