Developer Firaxis and 2K Games will formally announce a new XCOM—believed to be titled XCOM: Enemy Within—at Gamescom later this month, GameSpot reports.
GameSpot received confirmation that a new XCOM is definitely in the works from publisher 2K Games. They did not, however, confirm the title or comment whether Enemy Within (let’s just call it that, for now—seems the likely name) is DLC for Enemy Unknown as Jake Solomon intimated to Polygon in January or a full-fledged, fully realized new installment.
XCOM: Enemy Within was most recently spotted on the Korean Game Ratings Board, listed for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It was also sighted earlier this year on the Steam database.
According to GameSpot, the XCOM announcement will go down on Wednesday, August 21. Gamescom is being held in Cologne, Germany from August 21 through August 25.
