If you’re thinking about pre-ordering God of War: Ascension, then it seems doing so from a certain retailer will net you a rather interesting cameo as a bonus.

By pre-ordering the game from GameStop, you’ll be able to unlock King Leonidas as a bonus playable character for the game’s multiplayer mode. At first, this seem like a somewhat crazy cameo to put in the game, but you know—after thinking about it a bit more, it also makes perfect sense.

“We are very excited to partner with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment to offer you the chance to play as one of the biggest badasses in Greek history on the God of War: Ascension multiplayer battlefield,” SCEA product marketing manager Anthony Caiazzo said on the official Sony blog. “Donning King Leonidas’s red cape, iconic helmet, and armor you will stand apart as one of the ultimate warriors of Sparta. King Leonidas also comes with his iconic spear, which has its own set of unique combat moves.”
