THE BUZZ: Nintendo plans to ramp up their digital distribution plans on the 3DS by offering demos and DLC via the eShop.
“We are… aiming to accelerate our digital business, the importance of which is expected to become even higher in the future,” said Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo. He revealed that ”several new functions” are to be added to the 3DS eShop including post release DLC which is, ”a feature a number of software creators have been looking forward to.” Developers will also be able to release demos for their games, ”for which they can put a limit on the number of trials”.
EGM’s TAKE: Nintendo is trying its best to fix any issues that fans have with the 3DS, and a full digital download store would help with this.
