THE BUZZ: One of the downsides to Nintendo’s 3DS slide pad add-on contraption is the fact that it requires a battery. The good news? You’ll get a lot of life from one battery.

How long? Well, according to someone in Japan who got the 3DS Slide Pad Extension a few days early—the official launch isn’t until December 10th—the included manual says that you’ll get 480 hours of use off of one AAA battery.

EGM’s TAKE: When it was first announced that the Slide Pad Extension would require an additional battery for use, many didn’t take too kind to the news. However, 480 hours isn’t bad—especially if you use a rechargeable battery for the device.
