4A games teasing 60fps for Metro Redux on PS4

Posted on May 21, 2014 AT 09:37am

Metro Redux, a re-release of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, will run at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 4, if several teaser videos released by 4A Games are anything to go by.

The developer posted three Vines earlier today that show various scenes from the PlayStation 4 version of the game. One of the videos shows the DualShock 4 controller with some gameplay, while another shows a frame counter in the corner of the screen showing 60, along with the tease: “Hmm… What could that number mean?”

Metro Redux was officially announced in March for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. “Metro Redux. You may have heard of it… even though you probably shouldn’t have,” publisher Deep Silver said at the time. “We could issue a ‘We do not comment on rumor and speculation’ statement and pretend this never happened. They’re pretty boring to read. They’re also pretty boring to write.

“So we’re going to comment on rumor and speculation instead. Is Metro Redux real? Yes. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware.”

More details are expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
