4J Studios has released comparison images of the view distance in the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One versions of Minecraft, and also stated that it is currently testing a 36 times increase in world size.

Over on Twitter the developer posted images of all four versions, showing off the increase in view distance between the last and current-gen versions of the game. 4J also revealed that it is currently trying out a world size increase of 36 times for the PS4/Xbox One versions compared to the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of the game.

“We’re currently trying out a world size increase of 36 times the area of the Xbox 360/PS3 world,” 4J wrote.

This of course doesn’t mean that the final release will feature a world that is 36 times bigger, that all depends on how the tests go.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated last month that the Xbox One version of Minecraft is nearing release, and Mojang’s Owen Hill recently stated that the PlayStation 4 version should be out by the end of Q3 of this year (September).
