THE BUZZ: While some may know 5th Cell best for their adventures in literacy via the Scribblenauts series, the company is prepping an XBLA-exclusive online multiplayer shooter titled Hybrid. Today, more details have come out about Hybrid‘s price and beta test launch window.
EGM’s TAKE: Okay, fantastic idea here folks—combine a third-person online multiplayer shooter with Scribblenauts! Let players bring weapons, vehicles, support items, cover, and other such things into the game simply by writing their names! It could revolutionize the entire genre!
No? You say that’s a terrible idea?
I guess if you’re content with having a multiplayer shooter that doesn’t involve calling down deities or guns that shoot fish via the power of written word, then you’ll no doubt be looking forward to Hybrid. 5th Cell’s next major project now has an official price—1200 MS Points, or $15 in normal human currency—and the game’s producer Caleb Arseneaux tells Joystiq that Hybrid’s beta test will be launching by “the end of this month”.
