THE BUZZ: Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell has released some new details and a trailer for their upcoming 3D shooter Hybrid.
The title is being developed for Xbox Live Arcade and features players flying around 3D levels with a jetpack shooting enemies, however the game suffered a lengthy delay back in 2011 and the news has been quiet ever since. Now 5th Cell has resurfaced with some new details and a trailer, which can be found below.
- Revamped flight-centric combat focused movement
- New look with redesigned characters, detailed environments, polished interface
- Locked at 60FPS at 720p
- Reveal of the world map and persistent online world war
- Deep customization, available on the fly
EGM’s TAKE: The game is a vertical based shooter, thanks to the jetpacks, and should offer the thrill of flying while gunning down the opposition. Two factions are available to play in the game, the Paladins and the Variants, which make up the two sides of online multiplayer. The game is described as being “war online” and it looks as if each territory is a different mutliplayer level that players can battle for control in, quite how this will work is still unknown. The game looks graphically beautiful and combat looks fluid, this is certainly one to keep on the radar.
