New footage from Xenoblade Chronicles X shown during today?s Nintendo overviews the mysterious world of Mira.

Mira is the makeshift home to humanity, following a war between two alien races that, in 2054, irrevocably damages Earth and forces its denizens to seek refuge in the stars. Two months prior to the start of the game, however, a second alien attempt forces their ark ship, the White Whale, to crash land on the wild and alien world of Mira.

Xenoblade Chronicles X launches in Japan next Wednesday, on April 29. Its North American and PAL-territory release is slated for sometime later this year, though a specific release date hasn?t been announced.
