Final Fantasy

Assassin’s Creed Origins is getting a ton of new content in December, with an update adding in a new difficulty level, a new Trial of the Gods Event, new quests, and new items. The latest tease from Ubisoft, though, hints that we’ll be getting something nobody expected: Chocobos.

Ubisoft recently updated its website to include a discussion on Origins‘ upcoming DLC. The page made mention of “a new surprise quest” before showing off a gif of the tail end of a new mount, complete with what certainly seems to be Chocobo feathers.

It may seem like a leap of logic, but Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy crossovers have already happened before. Just a few months ago, Final Fantasy XV added in the Assassin’s Festival, part of a collaboration between Square Enix and Ubisoft that allowed players to learn new assassin abilities and dress Noctis in the Master Assassin’s Robes.

Now, it seems as if that crossover is going back the other way, with a Chocobo-inspired mount appearing in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Ubisoft hasn’t said exactly what day the new DLC will launch, but it will be available sometime in December. A few new items will be added to the game on December 12th, while the Wacky Items Pack will appear on December 26th.
