It’s unclear which versions of the games players will be able to pick up, but it seems likely Resident Evil will be the remake that initially launched for GameCube in 2002. Since then, an HD remaster of the remake has hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will likely be the same story for Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4, both of which have also received HD remasters in recent years.
There are a few other mysteries surrounding the games, too, like if the Switch’s motion controls will be utilized. Also, with the recent launch of Nintendo Switch Online, Capcom and Nintendo could in theory create new online features, such as online co-op in Resident Evil 0 or competitive Mercenaries mode for Resident Evil 4.
While fans will just have to wait to hear more, it’s truly exciting to see that the Switch will be getting a trio of fantastic entries in the series.
