According to a reveal in the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the sixth main game in the Ace Attorney franchise is on its way. And now, in addition to confirming the legitimacy of the scanned pages, Capcom has stated that Ace Attorney 6 is definitely getting a western release.
The game, which has no official title yet, will be playable at the Tokyo Games Show in late September. One image from Famitsu confirms that Phoenix Wright returns as the main character, sporting the same older and more distinguished look he had in the last main game of the series, Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies.
Another scan reveals one and-a-half new characters, though what roles they’ll play in the upcoming game remains a mystery. According to a translation from Siliconera, the character in blue is Bokuto Tsuani, a priest in training with a cheerful personality. It doesn’t mention anything about the mysterious lady cut off at the bottom, except to say that she won’t be a prosecutor, witness, or judge.
The last few games in the Ace Attorney franchise have been spinoffs, with Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney arriving in the West last year and Dai Gyakuten Saiban, a Japan-only release set in the distant past, coming out last July.
Like these games, Ace Attorney 6 will be exclusive to the 3DS.
