City Interactive today announced a new fantasy action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen, being developed for PC, PS4, and the next Xbox.
“From the very beginning, Lords of the Fallen will intrigue and satisfy players’ hunger to explore each corner of a brand new world, freely customize and build their own character, and take down some of the most epic enemies ever seen,” executive producer Tomasz Gop said in the press release.
Gop previously served as senior producer on CD Projekt Red’s The Witch 2: Assassins of Kings. Speaking to Eurogamer, Gop described Lords of the Fallen‘s as a challenging action-RPG in the same vein as Dark Souls, with its skill trees reminiscent of Borderlands’.
Lords of the Fallen, as described in the press release, sees players assuming the role of protagonist Harkyn as he travels throughout the game’s fantasy world on a quest to “stand against an apparently unstoppable supernatural force.”
Lords of the Fallen is slated for release sometime 2014. CI Games says the action-RPG will be presented live at this year’s E3.
