THE BUZZ: Activision has confirmed that the official The Amazing Spider-Man game will be released in 2012 alongside the upcoming feature film of the same name.

Developed by Beenox, The Amazing Spider-Man takes place after the events of the film, and will give players free-roaming gameplay that unfolds across New York City. As part of the announcement, a teaser trailer for the game was also released.

EGM’s TAKE: Beenox has a proven track record with the Spider-Man franchise, so hopefully this version will live up to expectations.
