Call of Duty

THE BUZZ: Activision has dropped a hint regarding the next Call of Duty game, set to be officially revealed May 1.

A teaser image (above) has been unlocked on CallofDuty.com that shows a Quadrotor RC Drone, complete with submachine gun. Furthermore, clicking on the image links to the video found below. The presenter of the video states that the technology used in the prototype is still 10-15 years away from being ready, however he also states that it may just make an appearance in the next Call of Duty game.

Is this the publisher hinting at a near future setting for Black Ops 2?

Yesterday a whole bunch of multiplayer details for the game appeared online, along with claims that the game’s subtitle will be ‘Eclipse‘ and launch November 13.

EGM’s TAKE: Does this tease indicate that Treyarch is planning on moving past Modern Warfare to offer fans a more futuristic take, similar to what Ghost Recon is doing? If this technology is going to be included in the game then it certainly looks that way. Fans seem to lean more towards Infinity Ward’s entries into the franchise, could a futuristic setting help Treyarch pull some favor their way? We know two things for certain: This piece of kit looks amazing and we’re a lot more excited for May 1 now.

Would you like to take the Quadrotor out for a spin as a killstreak in the next Call of Duty? Let us know in the comments below.
