Activision hasn’t kicked up too much fuss since Grand Theft Auto V and Rockstar took its sales crown, but it appears that the publisher is determined to take it back.
“Congratulations to the team at Rockstar for their success,” UK senior brand manager Kevin Flynn told MCV. “We look forward to getting the record back before the next GTA title.” That last part sounds an awful lot like a dig at Rockstar not matching Call of Duty‘s rate of release.
Flynn also believes that Call of Duty: Ghosts has the ability to fend off any competition that it may have at launch. “We know that our unaided awareness for Ghosts is leading the way against other unreleased triple-A titles,” he said. “Our digital content has proven extremely popular and Black Ops II has sold more than three million units in the UK.”
