Activision Registers Black Ops 2 Domain
Posted on January 10, 2012 AT 06:14am
THE BUZZ: Activision has finally managed to secure the domain name for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, reigniting the rumors that Treyarch’s entry this year will be a direct sequel.
The domain was originally registered on May 20, 2011 by a proxy server preventing Activision from getting their hands on it, but it is now owned by MarkMonitor, a brand protection company used by Activision. Last year the publisher used this company to register domains all the way up to BlackOps6.com, however were unable to secure BlackOps2.com due to it already being registered.
EGM’s TAKE: If you had to take a shot in the dark, put money on Black Ops 2 hitting stores later this year. However, with no official word from Treyarch it’s still anyone’s guess as to what this years Call of Duty title will be.
Will Treyarch’s next game be Black Ops 2? Leave your thoughts below.
