Activision releasing six Blizzard games in next three years

THE BUZZ: At the Citi 2011 Technology Conference today, Activision Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl has stated that his company plans to release six “proven properties” from Blizzard in the next three years.
Four of those titles will be expansions, with two for World of Warcraft and two for Starcraft II. Only one of those expansions is confirmed so far—the second installment of Starcraft II, Heart of the Swarm, set for release in mid-2012.
Beyond that, of course, one of those games will be Diablo III. While no solid release date has yet to be announced, Tippl said the game hasn’t been factored into the company’s earnings report expectations for the calendar year, and an expansion for the game should hit before the end of 2014.
So what’s the last game? There’s still “Titan”, the rumored new Blizzard MMO.
EGM’s TAKE: Blizzard is typically a studio that prefers to never give solid release dates for in-progress projects, something no doubt at odds with an organization like Activision. Also, what will those two WoW expansions be? Pandaria? The Emerald Dream? Something totally different?
