During their Next-Generation Character Rendering panel at GDC, Activision showcased next-gen photorealism with a real-time character demo.

According to Activision Blizzard technical director Jorge Jimenez, the tech demo, seen below, is running on a GeForce GTX 680 at 180 frames per second.

It is, in a word, bananas—but not likely what we’ll see coming out the gate on next-gen consoles. Tech demos are well and good, but once you add all the other elements of chaos in a videogame into the mix, well. It gets busy.
